The partially-scripted series follows comedian Jack and his eccentric father Michael as they tour the globe. The pair reflected on some of their favourite contributors, including Porky from Compton.

What happened to Porky from Travels With My Father?

For the final season of the hilarious travel series, Jack and Michael featured in a bonus third episode.

During the special instalment, they took time to look back on some of the best moments from their adventures.

They had a discussion about who their favourite people had been, and they mentioned Porky from season three.

The father and son duo had visited Compton and LA, and Michael took a particular liking to Porky.

He said: “He kept calling me an ‘OG’ which I thought was slightly rude because I thought it was like an OAP.

“But of course, that’s not what it meant.” Jack reassured him it stood for ‘original gangster’.

They then watched a clip of Porky driving the pair around Compton and the retired gangster respected Michael’s style.

Sadly, following the montage, Jack revealed that Porky had died since filming.

He said: “Porky is sadly no longer with us. Yeah, he sadly deceased.” He did not go into any detail about how Porky died, or exactly when.

They raised a toast to their old friend and fans were sad to hear of Porky’s fate.

Taking to Twitter, one user said: “I was saddened to hear Porky had died”.

Another asked: “@jackwhitehall what happened to Porky?” However, the star did not give a reply.

The contributor was a fan-favourite due to the bond he formed with Michael and his son on the trip.

He said Michael had “set the bar high” with his fashion as he was “rockin’ that suit with that pink tie”.

He told Jack to respect his elders and said he would look out for the pair during the trip.

Porky made fun of Jack after Michael revealed he loved listening to the Spice Girls as a child.

Jack was humiliated as he tried to think of some of his favourite gangster rap artists but failed.

The pair then went back to Porky’s home to have a drink with some of his friends.

Porky asked what Jack and his family would drink back in the UK and Jack sheepishly said: “A white wine spritzer”.

The former gangster sighed and said: “So you listen to the Spice Girls and you drink white wine?”

After hearing the news of his death, Michael said: “This is so sad because I was really fond of him.”

The 81-year-old author and talent agent said he “absolutely loved” the larger than life character.

Season five saw the duo with Michael’s wife Hilary tour the UK for their final adventure.

They visited Wales and Jack tried his hand at herding sheep. At the end of the series, they headed home in two Spitfire planes.
