In Talkradio footage, Insulate Britain protesters are being dragged by the police as they are blocking the M25. Insulate Britain spokesperson Liam Norton said: “You can throw as many injunctions at us as you like, raid our savings and confiscate our property, but we are going nowhere. “This country is going to hell unless you take emergency action to stop putting carbon into the air.”

Some glued themselves to each other barriers, and the tarmac, and blue paint was sprayed onto the road.

The group, an offshoot of Extinction Rebellion, is calling for the Government to insulate homes in the UK to help cut carbon emissions.

An injunction banning protests around the M25 was issued last Thursday.

However, they have defied the court order and blocked part of the M25 at Heathrow Airport.

The group, an offshoot of Extinction Rebellion, is calling for the government to insulate homes in the UK to help cut carbon emissions.

In statements read out last week at the Home Office, the campaigners said: “We are more scared of the destruction of our country than we are of breaking an injunction.

“There are times when we have to step up and do what is right.”

It wants heat-saving measures installed in social housing by 2025 and all homes by 2030.

Speaking on LBC, Tracey Mulligan, a spokesperson for the group, said: “We have certainly got everybody talking about insulation or avoiding the question of insulation.

“We have got people considering that our government is legally failing in their duty to protect us and I think we’re showing that Priti Patel, unfortunately, is trying to scare us with an injunction and that shows her lack of character, not ours.

“You can’t put an injunction on hunger, you can’t put and injunction on physics, and we are terrified for our children’s future and sick of over 8,000 people dying each year from the choice of heating or eating.”

Its members have caused chaos on the M25 five times in the past fortnight.

Andrew Pierce has previously said on Jeremy Vine show: “They are reckless and stupid so we’ve got to lock them up because that stops them from going back onto the motorway.

“I don’t care if they risk their own lives but they’re risking the lives of motorists, which isn’t fair.

“They’re diverting police to jobs that they shouldn’t have to be doing.”
