This Morning’s Holly and Phil in stitches as they’re interrupted by barking dog

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield were left in stitches as This Morning was interrupted by a barking dog on Wednesday 2 March.

This Morning hosts Holly, 41, and 59 year old Phillip were seen chatting with journalist Tom Swarbrick and Camilla Tominey as they discussed the latest developments in Ukraine.

Hosts Holly and Phil spoke with Tom, who appeared on the ITV daytime show via video link from his home.

The group discussed the serious topic of the Ukraine and Russia war after resident Volodymyr Zelenskyy delivered an emotional plea to the European parliament after Ukraine’s membership application.

However, the segment was interrupted as Tom's dog could be heard barking in the background.

As Tom was seen speaking to the This Morning set and viewers, he passed as the grumbling noise came from behind him.

He turned to his dog and turned back to the camera and said: "Sorry that's the dog" as the dog continued to let out a raspy bark.

Presenters Holly and Phil, who recently showed off his biceps after a workout, looked shocked and began laughing at the surprising interruption.

Phillip, who recently enjoyed his first on screen hug with Holly in two years, joked: "I mean we're all on heightened alert but my god."

"Oh my god," Holly said as the dog continued to bark. "What's wrong with the dog?"

The dog could still be heard letting out a bark as Tom turned to the dog and said: "Lila, come on."

He then explained: "It's the postman. Lila, get out" he said as the dog continued to bark.

Phillip then joked: "Beginning to feel sorry for the postman."

"I know," Tom said. "There's been a history, they dislike each other." As Phil instructed Tom to "sort the dog out" as she turned to guest Camilla Tominey to continue the conversation.

Viewers were tickled by the blunder on Twitter as one wrote: "Got the giggles over Tom's dog" as another asked: "What kind of dog is it? The hound of the Baskervilles???".

"Not the dog", a third said followed by two laughing face emojis and another quipped: "The dog turning into satan there… "
