Hayley Hasselhoff joined Ranvir Singh on Lorraine earlier today to discuss her achievement of becoming the first ever curve model to front a Playboy magazine. The former Strictly Come Dancing contestant who was sitting in for Lorraine Kelly wanted

Ranvir began: “The picture we just showed there, is from the inside of the magazine I believe. The front cover, my producer told me was too buxom and too bottomy for us to show on the tele this morning – which is a compliment!

“I have seen it, you look really sexy on it. But why Playboy, why the front page of Playboy? It’s controversial for women, is it empowering?”

Hayley answered: “It’s very empowering, we’re in 2021 now, we’re in a place in the world where it’s all about being able to celebrate your body for you.

“To be asked to do something like this during a global pandemic where we’re all worried about our self image, it was this revolution for my own self-growth as well.

“On top of it to be asked to do it with Playboy Germany, it was such a great honour in itself,” the model added.

“And to know that it’s for the bigger message of curvy women; they are desired, they are wanted, it was a really big accomplishment.”

“And to be sexy, I guess?” Ranvir added. “Without fear, without shame, without covering up, because you are nude in it!”

“Well, I’m tastefully topless,” the guest replied. “We were celebrating my body and shooting it in a very artful approach.

“Ellen Von Unwerth [the photographer] she shoots in a very cinematic way, she goes from the idea of a female gaze.

“It was a beautiful day on set, all celebratory, women doing it for women and being able to really showcase; no matter what shape or size, you should be able to feel desired, to feel loved,” Hayley explained.

“It’s taken us this long to be able to have a curve model on the curve of something as iconic as Playboy, I’m really excited to be able to pave that path.”

Ranvir added: “In the UK now, we’re coming out of lockdown, the weather is getting a bit better, people are thinking about their bodies again and being seen – we haven’t been seen in public for about a year.

“But you hate that term ‘get summer body ready’ don’t you?”

“We’ve all been stuck inside for how many months now?” Hayley argued. “And the only way for people to get to the beach is if you’re summer body ready? Your’e summer body ready right here right now.

“I think that’s the whole thing about this cover, we shot it during a pandemic, it’s this whole idea of radical acceptance in my figure, here and now.

“Saying that I’m worthy enough not to miss these milestone moments because I’m looking for tomorrow.

“And I think that’s exactly what we’re doing with wanting to protect to people that you are worthy, your body is worthy to go explore and get into nature as soon as possible.

“Don’t try and manufacture your body to then live your life. Go and live your life now,” she remarked.

After releasing the cover on her Instagram account, fans flocked to the comments section with their reactions.

Strictly professional dancer Janette Manrara said: “Incredible news! I am so happy for you! Well done!”

Vicky Pattinson also commented: “Wow.”

Lorraine airs weekday at 9am on ITV.
