Strictly's Saffron Barker rushed to hospital in Brazil after being left in agony with debilitating ear infection

STRICTLY Come Dancing's Saffron Barker has been rushed to hospital in Brazil.

The 21-year-old YouTube star, who appeared on the show in 2019, was left in agony with a debilitating ear infection.

Saffron said she was left unable to eat and even drinking water stung as she partied in South America.

She shared footage of herself being treated in a ward after a night out and wincing in pain on her YouTube.

The star posted footage of her agonising treatment and later updated fans on her condition.

She said "I pretty much since day one of being here have had a really bad sore throat. Every day it's got worse and worse.

"It was causing me, like, agony. I was really trying to hide it. I didn't want to ruin everyone's holiday – I just didn't want to be the person who was constantly moaning.

"I thought it would just go. I was taking so many tablets and to be honest nothing was helping. Everything was just getting worse and worse.

"I thought it was still my throat, I had really bad earache but basically if you guys have followed me for years and years you would know as a child I was pretty much in and out of hospital all the time.

"I got so many ear infections. They were just absolute agony – I would scream and I would cry. I couldn't hear out of my ears.

"I haven't really had once since I was so much younger. I thought because our nose and ears are linked that it was more my throat.

"Anyway I ended up burning up yesterday and getting a temperature. As you can tell I was bright red. My eyes felt puffy.

"My face is still really swollen, I couldn't eat and swallow and that's when I realised I really need to see someone.

"They don't have GPs here, they don't have doctors. I had to go to the hospital. I went and saw a doctor and a nurse there and he's prescribed me so many tablets.

"He said I have a really bad ear infection. It's so swollen inside my ear it's gone down my throat. It's making it impossible for me to eat because it's so painful.

"Even when I drink water it stings like imagine you have ulcers I stings. He's given me so many tablets and honestly after taking them last night it's already made the world of difference."
