Strictly star Karen Hauer says she fears being dropped from the show calling the wait 'nerve wracking'

STRICTLY star Karen Hauer fears being dropped from the show – calling the wait 'nerve wracking'.

The 37-year-old dancer has been part of the hit BBC One show since 2012 but despite her many years of service, she still fears not getting the call to return.

She said: "Strictly has completely changed my life. It’s definitely been the mothership. Hopefully I'll be back.

"It’s nerve-wracking. It all depends on which celebrities they’ve signed up and whether you fit in."

Karen is about to go on tour with fellow pro Gorka Marquez, who didn't get a celebrity partner on last year's series.

While Karen hopes they will both be back on the show, she is excited to hit the road with the Spaniard for their new show.

She told The Mirror: "He’s very calm and easygoing. He’s made me calmer.

"Our roots are very Latino and fiery. We’re good friends.”

Gorka, 29, will have to juggle the tour with his parenting responsibilities, having welcomed daughter Mia with former Strictly contestant Gemma Atkinson last year.

Karen – who was married to fellow Strictly pro Kevin Clifton until 2018 – said: "I’m just so happy for him, it’s beautiful to see him flourish."

Karen is open to the idea of becoming a parent herself, as she is loved up with boyfriend, opera singer David Webb, 35.

She said: "Having a baby is a possibility for me. I’m really happy. Everything is falling into place.

"I adore David. He knows every piece of me and gets me, which is rare.

"And he likes dogs. I’m probably going to end up with 25.”
