    Who is Ugo Monye?

Ugo will be making a drastic change in his day-to-day life as he doesn't seem to be used to the dance floor.

Born on April 13, 1983, and hailing from Islington in London, he is more used to the sports scene as a former rugby union player turned sports pundit.

Ugo began his career at an early age as a star athlete and competed in the English Schools' Championships finishing 5th.

A student at Lord Wandsworth College, he eventually decided to pursue rugby when his former sports master Tim Richardson put him in touch with Harlequins' coach, Colin Osborne.

    Who is Oti Mabuse?

Oti Mabuse is a 31-year-old professional dancer who rose to fame on BBC One's Strictly Come Dancing.

She was born in Pretoria, South Africa and unlike many of the Strictly family, Oti did not start her path to professional dancing from a young age.

Oti studied civil engineering at university before embarking on a career in professional dancing, following in the footsteps of her sister Motsi – nine years her senior – who is a professional ballroom dancer.

She joined the show in 2015 for its thirteenth series and was partnered with boxer Anthony Ogogo but unfortunately did not make it past week three.

Oti was then partnered with Hollyoaks hunk Danny Mac, and the duo were the show's standout performers, topping the leaderboard seven times on their way to the finals.

When did Oti Mabuse win Strictly Come Dancing?

Oti and Kelvin Fletcher were crowned champions of Strictly Come Dancing 2019 – even though she was originally partnered with Jamie Laing.

She and the Made In Chelsea star appeared in the first episode of the series as it was pre-recorded.

But after Jamie injured himself and had to pull out of the competition, Oti was assigned a new partner.

Fortunately for Oti, Kelvin picked up dancing really quickly and helped her win her first Strictly Come Dancing title.

She then became the first professional to defend her Strictly crown, helping comedian Bill Bailey pull off a shock win in 2020.

The then 55-year-old is the oldest celeb to win the competition since it began 17 years ago.

Strictly pro dancers including Johannes Radebe, Neil Jones and Kai Widdrington were getting cosy with each other at a drinking session at the TV studios in West London.

The group were also pictured smoking, drinking and meeting passing fans outside.

A source said: “The rules are more relaxed this year but it hasn’t taken long for things to spiral out of control.

“This time around producers had just asked people to be sensible and do their best to reduce the risk of contracting Covid. But clearly this lot weren’t too bothered and just wanted a good time.

“They were happily laughing, joking, cuddling up and meeting other people. It looked like a great night out but if more people start testing positive it’s going to be a nightmare for the show.”

Tilly is Strictly’s first student contestant

Tilly was rumoured to be dating Gino D’Acampo’s son Luciano in late 2019 — after their dads bonded filming ITV’s Men Behaving Badly.

She is Strictly’s first student contestant and starts a psychology degree at a northern university.

She previously ruled out a show romance, claiming: “It’s not Love Island! I’m single and here to focus on dancing.

“Doing Strictly is the most exciting chapter of my life. I’m so grateful for this huge opportunity and Nikita’s been the best of the best as a teacher. He’s strict but we can have a laugh and have fun.”

Discussing her studies, she said: “I will stay in London to avoid the Covid risk of travel and to train in between lectures. A lot are online.”

‘Strictly stars who refused Covid jab should be AXED’

Ballroom dancers AJ and Curtis Pritchard have slammed the professionals who plunged Strictly into crisis by refusing to get their Covid jabs.

The TV stars – who championed The Sun’s Jabs Army campaign – called for those who turned down the life-saving vaccine to be AXED from the BBC show’s main line-up.

Love Islander Curtis, 25, said celebrities paired with un-vaxxed dancers should be allowed to dance with one of the many reserve pros who are double-jabbed and waiting in the wings.

He said: “There’s always reserve professionals on there isn’t there.

“So if they’re thinking of pulling the show I don’t think that should happen. Maybe remove the pros that aren’t getting the jab. But not get rid of them or fire them. There’s always reserves on the show.

“So bring the ones in that have had the jab this year. Put the other ones on the reserve list.

“They’re still part of the programme, and the show can go on and move forward.”
