Spoilers: Phil and Ben return to crime in EastEnders but will Ben survive?

Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) seemingly aligns himself with son Ben (Max Bowden) once more in EastEnders, as the pair prepare for a new business venture after another run-in with the villainous Danny Hardcastle (Paul Usher), but there’s conflict aplenty between the pair, as Ben’s mind is naturally elsewhere, given that his operation is approaching.

Phil receives a present that he’d ordered for Dennis (Bleu Landau) prior to his death, and its arrival leaves him somewhat floored. Ben figures out what’s going on, and decides to discuss things with his dad, but — as they reminisce about the young boy — Phil becomes frustrated that Ben can’t hear him, which leaves the young man gutted.

Meanwhile, Ben soon learns that his operation is due to take place on the following day, and he therefore confides in Callum (Tony Clay) about what’s happening.

Phil continues to put pressure on Mick (Danny Dyer) and Linda (Kellie Bright) in regards to the sale of the Queen Vic, but he soon realises that Danny has overheard everything. As a result, they discuss a potential job, but Danny mocks Ben, and Phil is fuming.

Danny agrees to let Phil help on the condition that Ben stay away, but — later — Phil lashes out at Danny for continuing to criticise Ben, and therefore returns home and asks Ben to help him with his own plan.

As the day of Ben’s operation arrives, he finds himself somewhat distracted, as Phil turns up to discuss the details of their upcoming job, and Ben is left trying to get information out of Callum in regards to what the police might know.

Ben is feeling unwell, but he heads to his operation nonetheless, and Callum soon discovers that his boyfriend is digging for dirt, and thus storms off.

Will Ben get the information he needs?

What’s more, how will his operation go?

Will he be okay?
