Sid Sumner (Billy Price) had been hoping to rekindle his romance with Juliet Nightingale (Niamh Blackshaw) in Hollyoaks, but during the pair’s seaside drug run in tonight’s hour-long instalment, he listened as Juliet opened up about her sexuality, and — in emotional scenes — he proved incredibly supportive.
Sid was hoping to whisk Juliet away for a romantic trip to the seaside — something which Jordan (Connor Calland) had arranged for the teenagers — but the young woman wasn’t keen on such an idea, and therefore asked Imran (Ijaz Rana) and Ollie (Aedan Duckworth) to tag along.
Matters were complicated when Juliet dumped her boyfriend following an argument, but evil Jordan made clear that he needed them on the trip, as they were going on a drug run on his behalf.
During tonight’s instalment, Juliet and Sid headed off to the seaside, and they arrived at the location in which they were meant to drop the drugs off, but conflict ensued between Juliet and local resident Sasha — who boasted about having more money and the best phone available.
Juliet wasn’t keen on the young woman’s attitude, and therefore she stole the phone prior to their departure — something which Sid was furious about, as he believed they could be in danger following her actions.
He wasn’t wrong, but we’ll get to that later, as — while at the beach — he had something of a heart-to-heart with his former girlfriend, and — as Juliet revealed that she wanted to be more like Peri (Ruby O’Donnell) — Sid asked her if she might be gay.
Emotional scenes ensued — scenes helmed by sublime performances from actors Niamh Blackshaw and Billy Price — as Sid revealed his love for Juliet, and he informed her that she can feel comfortable to come to him with whatever she needs.
Juliet opened up about her sexuality, revealing that she’s attracted to girls. After processing what she told him, Sid proved incredibly supportive — much like he promised he would be.
Sasha and her crew showed up and ruined the moment, as they launched a vicious attack on Sid in regards to Juliet nicking the phone, and this moment only solidified Juliet’s desire to get out of the drug game.
Unfortunately for her and Sid, Jordan wasn’t so keen on such a thing, as he berated them for ruining the operation, before revealing that they’re under his control for the foreseeable.
Will Juliet and Sid be able to get to from under his control?
