Piers and Susanna’s time on GMB this morning was as full of drama as ever. Following an explosive row with former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, the ITV hosts were joined by Andrew Marr, Kevin Maguire and Andrew Pierce during the show to discuss the latest headlines. However, a brief mix-up during the discussion forced Piers to apologise to Andrew.

Speaking to all three guests via video link, Piers was keen to hear their thought on Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s claim that he was “proud” of the UK’s response to the coronavirus pandemic.

He asked: “Andrew, it seems just weird to me that Boris Johnson would use language like how proud he is of his record when his record is so bad…”

However, the GMB panel responded in silence as both Andrew Pierce and Andrew Marr were unaware as to who Piers was addressing.

After a few seconds, Piers picked up on his error and pointed out: “Sorry, there are two Andrews! I’m so sorry.”

The group laughed off Piers’ blunder before the GMB host then specified his point was to Andrew Pierce.

Piers continued: “Andrew Marr,  if you could just hold your powder,

“I was actually talking to the addressing that to the other Andrew, I’m sorry.

“Andrew Pierce first, then Andrew Marr,” Piers said as he laughed off his mistake.

Carrying on the joke, Andrew Pierce said: “I was deferring to the better-looking and more interesting Andrew.”

Susanna and Piers let out a laugh while Marr could be seen blowing a kiss to his fellow guest.

Piers then quipped: “you were both very British about that,

“Nobody wanted to be the ‘top Andrew’.”
