Ozark is almost over with just one more series left to air after it was cancelled last year at the same time it was renewed for series four. The Netflix crime drama will conclude with fans finding out if Marty (played by Jason Bateman) and Wendy Byrde (Laura Linney) can escape the Navarro Cartel without getting killed. Here’s everything we know so far about Ozark season four.

Has filming for Ozark season 4 started?
Like with every other production company across the world, the pandemic put Ozark behind schedule.
There has been a major delay to filming but in August 2020, the production company behind the series MRC made a statement regarding the upcoming series.
An MRC spokesperson said: “The health and safety of our Ozark family is our first priority.
“Our team has approached return to production with a mandate of exceeding guidelines outlined by the CDC, government officials and others.
“We expect our protocols to evolve as we learn from the industry and our own productions.”
The spokesperson continued: “As we aim toward a return, we are working with the unions, health officials, our consultants, and Netflix on our Covid safety guidelines and protocols.
“Upon approvals from our partners and the implementation of safety required in this new environment, we are targeting a November start date.”
This got even more specific thanks to actor and executive producer Bateman, who told IndieWire: “We’re going to start November 9.
“Everything is moving well toward that, and we’re very confident in the guidelines and protocols we’re going to be following.
“We’ve got tons of consultants, [and] we’re learning a lot from other productions.”
So filming has already begun on series four of Ozark with the cast and crew hard at work since early November 2020.
As of yet, no official release date for the final season has been announced by Netflix.
There was a gap of around 10 months between filming starting and series two being released on the streaming service so it could be roughly around the same amount of time for season four.
If this is the case, then Ozark’s fourth series could be out in September 2021.

Fans were left stunned when Omar Navarro (Felix Solis) shot Helen Pierce (Janet McTeer) in the head in the series three finale.
The show was last seen with Omar putting his arms around a blood-splattered Marty and Wendy, signifying that he had chosen them over his lawyer.
This could be great news for the pair as it means they are safe from danger with Omar now on their side.
However, the more entangled they become with the cartel, the major risks there are which may lead to their eventual downfall.
Talking to Entertainment Weekly, producer Chris Mundy said: “As good as Helen is, there are other lawyers in the world.
“But Wendy and Marty have now pulled off two impossibilities for him.
“One is getting a casino to launder through in the first place, which is sort of the holy grail of money laundering.
“And the second is that, at least in Navarro’s mind, their claim that they have the FBI on their side and can swing the power of the US government in the intervention in the drug war against their rivals, that’s something virtually no one else can do, and that essentially tipped the scales for Marty and Wendy.”
Ozark is available to watch on Netflix.
