LOVE Island's Maura Higgins could miss her sister's wedding in three weeks' time to be on the show.
The Sun Online can reveal that the model applied for Love Island knowing there was a chance she'd be stuck in Majorca and unable to fly home to Ireland.
The Love Island is into its 3rd week on ITV2 and the final could take place on Monday, July 29.
But sources confirmed pretty fitness instructor Louise, 31, has no hard feelings towards Maura, 28, and gave her blessing to take part in the show.
A source tells The Sun Online: "Louise got engaged in 2016 and the wedding was planned over a year ago. So Maura would have known that when she applied for Love Island.
"But Maura and Louise are very close and her sister fully supports her decision to go on Love Island.
"In fact she's happy for Maura and is delighted she's been given an amazing opportunity to find love and further her career.
In an ironic twist, the source also revealed that Maura's ex fiance of nine years James Finnegan has been invited to the wedding – and will be there.
The source continued: "James will be at that wedding too cause he’s good friends with Louise's fiance. To be fair they were set to be brothers-in-law.
"It was a tough decision for Maura and no doubt she'll be gutted not to be there.
"But her family will be rooting for her either way and want her to make it through to the Love Island final."
Maura has caused a huge stir on Love Island after her flirty remarks to boys Tommy Fury and Tom Walker.
Though the knockout reality star has been accused of being a "predator", The Sun Online exclusively revealed she's only had one long-term partner.
Her relationship with James Finnegan ended two years ago around the time her best friend died in a motorbike crash.
The 28-year-old model committed herself to local lad James for nine years after the pair met at school in Ireland.
James and Maura got engaged in 2013 when she was 23 years old.
But four years later they still hadn't wed and their relationship eventually fizzled out in 2017.
Sources admitted he was left devastated when they split and would have loved them to walk down the aisle.Maura Higgins gets annoyed with Elma Pazar after she expresses an interest in Tom Walker on Love Island
A source told The Sun Online: "She stayed with James as she got bigger and better at modelling and she did try to make it work.
"James was her first love and her anchor for a while but their relationship was bound to suffer as she travelled more and followed her dreams.
"He didn't want to split and was left drowning his sorrows. It will break his heart seeing her on Love Island, they'd been together since school. But they are good people and will always be on good terms. "
