Lorraine emotional after Mum sends Christmas message
Lorraine Kelly was joined by Dr Hilary, fashion expert Mark Heyes and US correspondent Ross King for a festive special of her ITV show. However, the presenter was left in tears when she was surprised by a Christmas message from her mum Anne. Lorraine revealed she won’t be spending Christmas with her mum this year but looks forward to a time when she can.
Ross kicked off the festive proceedings by getting Lorraine, Mark and Dr Hilary to guess which Christmas tree belonged to which celebrity.
He then surprised Lorraine with a series of emotional Christmas messages.
Lorraine’s brother Graham Kelly said: “Merry Christmas Lorraine I wish I could be there with you all but you and the family have a fantastic day ahead.
“Here in Singapore it’s going to be another tropical Christmas and I may have to wear a festive hat because it’s dropped below 90 degrees. Sorry, couldn’t resist that one, have a lovely day.”

“Oh, my beautiful baby brother in Singapore. I miss him. We all miss our families, don’t we Ross?” Lorraine said. “We just miss our families so much.”
“We certainly do,” Ross agreed. “I send love to all of my family in Scotland. I wish I could be with you.
“But Lorraine, someone else has a lovely little message for you.”
Lorraine’s mum Anne said: “Hello Lorraine just to wish you Steve and Rosie a really wonderful Christmas.
“Hope you all have a really good time and look forward to seeing you soon.
“Well as soon as possible anyway, have a great time love mum and dad.”
Holding back tears, Lorraine said: “I wish I could see them, it’s terrible isn’t it? I haven’t seen her for ages.
“Everybody is the same though. Zoom calls galore today. We will see each other.

“It’s like we keep saying. We have to scale it down for this year but wow are we going to make up for it next year?”
Welling up, Lorraine added: “My wee mum, that was so lovely.”
Elsewhere, the presenter spoke to Kylie Minogue about her Christmas Day traditions.
The pop sensation revealed that she always went “decoration crazy…you’ve got to let yourself go crazy at Christmas time.”
Revealing what she’s up to on the big day, Kylie said: “Paul and I, Christmas tree, food, TV and movies.
“It’s going to be very emotional to be able to call back home and be able to celebrate with my family at a distance but celebrate nonetheless.”
Kylie cheekily explained she and Paul share the cooking: “I’ll pour the wine…”
“This Christmas of all Christmases, I think if you want to dress up, knock yourself out, you deserve it,” she added.
Lorraine airs weekdays on ITV at 9am.
