Kathy opens her gay bar in EastEnders but a shock return follows

It’s a busy day for new landlady Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) as she finally opens the brand new local gay bar, The Prince Albert – before she then goes home to come face to face with her killer grandson Bobby Beale who has been released from prison.

Kathy has been working closely with Tina Carter (Luisa Bradshaw-White) on the plans for the big launch and as the big day arrives, Kathy is both nervous and excited – hoping that it will be a success. However, when she can’t get hold of Tina, she despairs and marches to the Vic to demand to know where she is.

Desperate to get involved in the venture, Kim Fox-Hubbard (Tameka Empson) spots her chance to get behind the project and offers to work with Kathy in Tina’s place. Kathy is relieved and, despite a slow start to the night, Kim’s livewire and infectious personality nad her guests soon liven the night up and it’s in full swing, looking set to be a buzzing new venue for the area.

As Kathy marvels at a job well done, she heads home quietly – where Bobby is! But how will Ian (Adam Woodyatt) feel when he learns that Kathy has housed his murderous son?

And has Bobby changed since being away?

One to watch: Friday 14th June at 8pm on BBC One.
