Good Morning Britain presenter Kate Garraway has reacted to the No 10 Christmas party scandal, which took place while her family struggled to visit her husband Derek Draper in the hospital. During Thursday’s instalment of the ITV news programme, Kate said she didn’t want to “throw stones” at the Government. However, viewers lashed out at the host for “defending” the Tories.

@Hastingpier64 tweeted: “Can’t believe she’s almost defending them! Adil Ray didn’t look comfortable.”

Nicky Baldwin added: “Stop being so polite and mincing your words! It’s scandalous and it’s about to kick off soon if they don’t get out of the cabinet with Boris Johnson.”

@IpearlShaw responded: “Kate I absolutely love you but please don’t try and defend the government, we all worked extremely hard but we didn’t all have a big get together.”
