John Lewis’s Christmas Advert has become a prominent feature of the festive season, with many viewers eager to know what story will be showcased on their screens each year. Excitable Edgar may be part of this year’s John Lewis campaign as fans of the annual yuletide adventures have been theorising a Twitter account could have a link to the brands seasonal offering.
On Monday, a Twitter account under the alias of Excitable Edgar surfaced on the social media platform.
With the icon for the profile being a gargoyle door knocker, a short 10-second clip is the only thing which has been posted.
In the teaser, a human hand is seen rattling the wooden door decoration, before it opens ever so slightly – creaking as a fiery glow is seen in-between the crack.
To conclude, a message flashes up on the screen in front of a snowy background which reads: “Meet Edgar. 14.11.19 #ExcitableEdgar,” which left users in meltdown as they seemed to make a connection between the teaser and John Lewis.

The cryptic post has been retweeted 506 times and liked by 2.3k Twitter users, with the same amount now following the page which is sure to increase.
No official confirmation has been given as to whether there is a link to the iconic brand, but viewers of the teaser have responded to the tweet.
One wrote: “I’ve been looking forward to meeting Edgar since last Christmas…can’t wait for Thursday! #excitableedgar #itsbeginningtolookalotlikechristmas.”
Another added: “Well it is almost officially Christmas #Christmas #ExcitableEdgar,” to which a third commented: “Unsure who Excitable Edgar is but I already want his door knocker. #ExcitableEdgar.”
The Christmas adverts are starting!
A fourth remarked: “With the #ExcitableEdgar post… the Christmas adverts are starting!”
Fans will have to wait and see if tomorrow’s deadline sees the John Lewis advert revealed, or if another brand is launching their campaign if it is indeed anything to do with a retail company.
If Excitable Edgar isn’t associated with the brand, it won’t be long before their advert does make it to television screens.
On the official site for the retailer in regards to their festive offering, a message reads: “Our Christmas advert is coming soon.”

Last year’s campaign dropped on November 15 and was centred around the story of Elton John and his love for music.
The advert was just under two and a half minutes long, seeing the iconic musician throughout the ages as he developed his passion for the piano.
Beginning and concluding the video, the 72-year-old starred alongside his younger selves to bring the message of Christmas to the British public.
However, not everyone was so pleased by the seasonal clip as previous years had seen the retailer play with the idea of incorporating animated creatures into their promotion.

Novelty gifts were then made available in John Lewis stores for customers to purchase if they enjoyed the advert.
Moz The Monster was the feature of the 2017 campaign with Buster The Boxer jumping his heart’s content back in 2016.
The Man On The Moon warmed hearts across the nation back in 2015 with Monty The Penguin delighting his young friend in 2014.
What has made each campaign so enduring is the cover of songs sung by chart-topping stars, however, no hint of this was given in the Excitable Edgar clip.
