EastEnders favourite Kat Slater has been dealing with troubling behaviour from her son Tommy Moon (Sonny Kendall) in recent scenes.
The mother and son dup were shown to be at each other's throats over Kat's suspicion that Tommy stole money, with the latter going on to seek help from Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) to deal with his school bullies.
After realising that Phil knew about Tommy being bullied and helping him behind her back, Kat decided to move out to prevent Tommy from being hurt when Phil goes to prison.
During Thursday's episode on the BBC One soap, viewers will see Kat frantically packs to leave Phil’s house.
However, when Jean knocks over some paperwork, Kat is shocked at what she finds.
As Sharon Watts and Jada find a beaten-up Tommy in the Square, Kat and Phil have it out – but realising what she has to lose, Kat gets on one knee to propose.
With so much set to unfold around Kat's character, here's a look at the career and net worth of Jessie Wallace who has been playing the role for over two decades.
What is Jessie Wallace's net worth?
Jessie is estimated to be worth around £10 million, according to Idol Net Worth.
Most of her fortune likely comes from her time on EastEnders, but the other TV and acting credits that she's racked up over her decades' long career would have absolutely contributed to her massive wealth.
Her role as Kat won her the National Television Awards for Most Popular Newcomer in 2001, as well as the British Soap Award for Best Newcomer, Most Popular Actress and Best Actress.
How long has Jessie Wallace been on EastEnders?
Jessie began playing the role of Kat Slater on EastEnders in 2000 and continued the role for eight years.
In the summer of 2008, the actress mentioned that she hadn't ruled out a return to the BBC One soap.
In 2010, she returned to the soap reprising her role as Kat until April 2015, exiting the show to appear in six-part BBC One drama series Redwater.
Though the soap star said in 2016 that she wouldn't be returning to the show after the six-part series, she end up returning again in 2018.
What are her other acting credits?
Jessie made her first television appearance in an episode of the ITV police drama series The Bill in 1999.
Though she's most well known for her role on EastEnders, the 50-year-old actress has several other acting credits and TV appearances under her belt.
She appeared as Pat Phoenix in The Road to Coronation Street, a one-off drama exploring the origins and conception of Coronation Street, to mark the show's 50th anniversary in December 2010.
Jessie also played Amy Kriel in the third series of ITV's Wild at Heart.
She also made her West End theatre debut, replacing Denise van Outen in the role of Maureen in Rent Remixed at the Duke of York's Theatre from December 2007 to 2008.
Back to television, Jessie took part in the sixth series of Strictly Come Dancing with partner Darren Bennett, though she was eliminated in week four of the competition.
EastEnders airs Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays on BBC One
