Coronation Street star Simon Gregson was suspiciously coy when grilled about his rumoured upcoming appearance on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! during today’s Loose Women.

The Corrie legend is just one of the many names rumoured to be heading to Gwrych castle in Wales, as well as Richard Madeley and The Saturdays singer Frankie Bridge, who also happened to be a panelist on today’s Loose Women.

Frankie, Kaye Adams, Linda Robson, and Jane Moore, pleaded with the soap star to spill whether he’ll be making an appearance in this year’s I’m A Celebrity.

‘Come on Simon, you can tell us, it’ll go no further,’ teased Jane.

However, Simon, who rocked a black wig and lipstick in Friday’s Halloween special, responded: ‘Is there anybody listening, do you think? Tell you what, I’d go in there if it was haunted.’

The actor, who plays Steve McDonald in the ITV soap, is said to be following in his on-screen mum Beverley Callard’s footsteps after she took part in the series last year.

Simon later teased the panel and said: ‘I’m thinking about doing it for all the health reasons because the size of me at the minute.

‘I actually look like Fester [from Addams Family] from the waist down.’

Casting rumours are already bubbling away – and judging by Ant & Dec’s reaction video, it’ll be a strong line-up.

Another Corrie star tipped for this year’s line-up is Lucy Fallon, who starred as Bethany Platt in the ITV soap until 2020.

Bookmakers have slashed her odds down to 2/1 to be among the names tucking into some gruesome Bushtucker trials this autumn.

Loose Women airs weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV and I‘m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! returns in November on ITV.
