Gemma Collins has turned her hand towards matchmaking, suggesting that a set-up between Carol Vorderman and Paul Hollywood might be a good plan.
However, Vorders is having absolutely none of it.
Set to appear on Michael McIntyre’s quiz show The Wheel, where celebrity experts help contestants with specialist topics, the GC seemed a little out of her depth with a baking question.
Contestant Sean was asked: ‘Blind baking is a technique that might be used when making which of these baked goods?’
Thinking it through, Sean considered the answer Bakewell Tart, adding: ‘When I watch baking, Bake Off or anything, blind baking is when they put the beans in.
‘It makes the pastry set like it’s got filling in it.’
Gemma, 39, admitted: ‘I’m pleased you watched. I just can’t take my eyes off Paul Hollywood.’
She added: ‘Carol, he’d be one for you, him. You’d be a nice couple.’
Clearly unimpressed, the former Countdown host very quickly responded: ‘No!’ before joking: ‘He’s far too old for me,’ despite being five years older than the Bake Off host.
Despite the failed set-up attempt, Carol, 59, and Gemma clearly hit it off, with the presenter writing in an Instagram post: ‘I’m on The Wheel #MichaelMcIntyre tonight after the @bbcstrictly final 8.20pm.
‘@gemmacollins is hilarious…I love that girl 🥰.’
Gemma responded: ‘Go on Vorders’.
The pair are set to appear on The Wheel alongside stars including Chris Kamara, Gyles Brandreth, Professor Green, and Karim Zeroual, with each celeb having a speciality topic, including rap, football, and children’s TV.
Previously opening up about the quiz show, Michael told Metro.co.uk and other press: ‘I was thinking for a while about the evolution of entertainment television. There’s been so many talent shows. I just thought there hasn’t been any brand new formats for game shows and quiz shows.
‘They’re so well loved and they always do so well when people revive old formats. I thought [of the idea for The Wheel] in the bath literally within moments.’
The Wheel airs Saturday at 8:20pm on BBC One.
