Emmerdale fans in stitches as Mandy admits Vinny’s ‘true identity’ in flashback

In tonight's hour-long episode of Emmerdale, Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) finally confessed the truth about her dodgy dealings with "son" Vinny (Bradley Johnson) – or at least we think so.

She explained she'd been working as security at a casino, while Vinny, who she said has a knack for numbers, was counting cards and they were ripping the establishment off.

Seemingly confirming Vinny really is her son, Mandy said: "Nobody knew he was my son, of course, just a very lucky boy."

Her explanation played over a hilarious set of flashback montages, complete with slow motion snippets and an old Hollywood feel to it.

And viewers watching at home were finding it all hilarious, rushing to Twitter to share their thoughts on the out of the ordinary scenes.

One said: "Loving these casino flashbacks with Mandy and Vinny."

Another wrote: "The little segment of Mandy at the casino, gold! Made me giggle because it was so random."

A third tweeted: "Howling around this storyline with Mandy."

Someone else laughed: "Mandy – head of security for a chain of casinos," as well as some laughing emojis.

And a fifth added: "Oh my God this Mandy flashback is camp as anything, I love it."

Further in Mandy's story, she explained she had help from a pal she called the "Little Mermaid".

Viewers saw that the red-haired lady was actually Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) in a crimson wig.

And the rest of the Dingle family were fuming with Mandy as they took her account in their makeshift court.

Sam (James Hooton) fumed: "You're unbelievable Mandy. You're a disgrace to the family."

Meanwhile, Lydia (Karen Blick) told Mandy: "You're not a mother, you're a disgrace."

However, legions of fans still aren't convinced Vinny actually is Mandy's son.

And they were correct to be suspicious, as at the end, Vinny said to Mandy: "What if they find out you're not my mum? That I'm not one of their own?"

Will we ever find out the truth to Mandy and her return?

Emmerdale continues tomorrow at 7pm on ITV.
