Denise Van Outen looks terrified as she wobbles onto the rink for Dancing On Ice training

DENISE Van Outen kept her hand clasped on her mouth during her Dancing On Ice training, seemingly terrified at the task ahead.

The Towie voiceover, 46, looked in shock as her professional partner Matt Evers tried to show her the ropes in one of their first Dancing On Ice rehearsals.

Taking to the ice at a rink in London, Denise matched her white ice skates with zebra print leggings and black hoodie.

Her platinum blonde hair was parted down the middle and fell straight down over her shoulders.

Denise wore black gloves to keep her hands warm and were regularly clasping her face as she watched in horror at Matt's instructions.

She bravely stepped out onto the ice, as Matt embraced her to help her feel safe before she started practicing the moves he had taught her.

At one point Matt skated close to Denise, holding her hand as she held her arm out behind her for support.

Denise looked terrified as she tried spins and even skating on one foot, which she pulled off with her arms outstretched.

Her partner watched on closely as she tried the new moves and gave her encouragement as needed.

The celebrities only hit the ice for the first time last week and spent that day finding their feet steadily.

Training for the popular ITV skating competition is now in full swing and Denise has wasted no time getting stuck into things.

Denise – who was the third celebrity to be confirmed as part of the line-up next year – was paired with US star Matt, 44, who made history this year as the first same-sex DOI partnership alongside Steps singer Ian “H” Watkins.

Their pairing will have been disappointing to Rebekah Vardy who wanted to be paired with gay pro skater Matt — to avoid being the victim of any love-cheat rumours.

The news will be a blow to mum-of-five Becky, happily wed to Leicester City striker Jamie, who believed Matt could help her focus on rehearsals ahead of the new series early next year.

A source said: “Becky loves Matt.

"He’s one of the most famous skaters on the show and he’s gay, which means she can spend all her time training and on routines without being linked to him romantically.

“She’s really happy in her relationship with Jamie and doesn’t want anything to rock the boat."

Becky has since been paired with Andy Buchanan whom she was "excited" to be dancing with.

"Such a delight to meet everyone and feeling lucky to be working with such a lovely cast and crew ❤️," she wrote on Instagram last week.

"An extra surprise was meeting my wonderful skate pro @andybuchanan2 I am so excited to be partnered with you and am ready for some hard work! I can’t wait to get started!"

The ITV series is set to start early next year.
