Bachelor in Paradise may be over, but Bachelor nation fans are still reeling from what went down last on the beaches of Mexico. From drama with Blake Horstmann to Dean Unglert’s exit and return back to the show, a few jaw-dropping moments occurred that no one expected. And when it comes to unexpected relationships, no one thought John Paul Jones and Tayshia Adams would fall for each other, either.
Jones fell for Adams upon first meeting her, but Adams only pursued Jones after the show’s end. While the two seemed madly in love, they’ve now gone their separate ways. And according to Adams’ Instagram, it seems she thinks her future is way brighter without Jones in it.
Tayshia Adams announced her split from John Paul Jones on Instagram
Despite Adams being older (and seemingly more mature) than Jones, the two seemed to have a great relationship. Back in September, the two started posting photos of each other on Instagram — and fans were loving it. They even spoke to Access about their blossoming love life, and the two appeared to be completely smitten with each other while the interviewer asked them questions. Though Adams told the interviewer she wasn’t yet ready to be engaged, she did mention that, eventually, she’d love to marry Jones.
Sadly, it seems they couldn’t make their relationship work. At the end of October, Adams announced their breakup on Instagram with a post that’s now deleted.
“I know you guys have been asking about John and I recently, and as much as I like to keep my personal life private, I realize you have all watched and been a part of our journey from the beginning,” the post read. And she continued on by explaining their “insane schedules” and physical distance made it hard to maintain a romance.
Jones allegedly isn’t happy that Adams publicly talked about their breakup
Adams may have deleted her Instagram post about the breakup, but she went on the Bachelor Party podcast to talk about it, too. “I would never badmouth John. We both have our flaws. I think communication is a really big deal,” Adams said. “If you’re choosing to have that stuff go in one ear and out the other, that’s on you.”
Adams also explained on the podcast that she thinks Jones is a little immature to be with her seriously at this point. “I told him, I’m like honestly, ‘I just want you to experience a little more life. I feel like you just need to live a little bit and learn a little bit because I feel like I can only do so much,’” she said.
It seems Jones isn’t thrilled Adams took these confessions publicly, however. “John is not thrilled about Tayshia publicly airing her grievances on a podcast,” a source told Us Weekly. And another insider stated it was Jones who actually ended thing with Adams despite what fans may suspect.
Adams’ recent Instagram posts allude she’s better off now
We’re not sure where Jones and Adams stand now, but it seems Adams may be throwing some subtle shade toward Jones with her Instagram posts. She posted a set of photos showing herself in workout gear while out for a hike, and she captioned the post, “Future brighter than my whites,” along with the sneaker emoji.
Just four days after that post, she added another photo of herself with the caption, “Allow me to reintroduce myself.”
Adams didn’t directly reference Jones in any of these, but she seems to be flaunting her “brighter” future and reintroduction of who she is all over the ‘gram as of late. And her followers are loving it, too.
“You look amazing. So happy for you doing you,” one follower commented on the photo of her reintroduction.
“I’m excited for your future. You deserve so many amazing things. Hugs,” another commented on the photo of Adams in workout gear. On the same photo, another wrote, “I like you even more now after listening to the podcast today! You deserve so much better! My best to you.”
It looks like Adams is ready for bigger and better things, and Jones is, too, as he’s still pursuing an acting career in California. We can’t wait to hear what both of them get into next.
