Captain Lee Rosbach has skippered several luxury yachts over the last 10 years as the main star of Bravo’s wildly successful Below Deck franchise. However, as Lee and his crew head into a brand new season, a sneak peek at what’s to come has teased a startling revelation for the current crew.
Fans are predicting Below Deck regular Captain Lee could be about to quit after the latest preview of season 10.
Now accompanied by multiple spin-offs, Lee began the Below Deck adventure back in 2013 as the captain of the Honor.
Season 10 kicked off this Monday with the 73-year-old captain at the helm once again, but that could be about to change.
An extended trailer for the coming season saw Captain Lee sitting down with his crew and getting ready to make a big announcement.
“My mind is there, my heart is there, my body just won’t cooperate,” he tells his staff.
“So I’ve made a decision,” Lee added mysteriously, and several members of the crew were seen sobbing.
The footage from season 10 also included a scene in which the captain struggles to get around with a walking stick.
It’s now looking likely Lee could step down due to increasing health concerns which have impeded his abilities as captain.
However, it’s unknown if this will be a permanent move or whether he’ll be back later in the season or in a later instalment after taking a break.
Fans are also unsure if they’ll be meeting Lee’s replacement over the coming weeks but, needless to say, they were left distraught by the possibility of the captain’s exit.
During this week’s episode, he fed the rumour mill even further by opening up about his recent health issues.
“I am a little incapacitated,” he told his staff. “I have a nerve issue on my left side so I am going to depend on you guys in some areas.”

Later, in a confessional, he added: “I had back surgery before I left.
“The worst is behind me now, and the doctors have assured me that I’m just going to continue to get better. I said, ‘Well, I’m going to work!’”
Thankfully, Lee appears to be making a speedy recovery and recently shut down speculation he could be planning his retirement.
“I’m still having fun,” he told E! News. “I look forward to every season.”
“I always said when it stops being fun or everyone gets tired of looking at me, then I’ll step away.
“But until one of those two things happen, I don’t see myself going anywhere.”
Former chief stew Kate Chastain also weighed in on Brandi Glanville’s Unfiltered podcast: “He’s always coming back. Captain Lee will probably be on Below Deck for as long as the show is on.
“There is a saying that every good captain goes down with the ship and metaphorically Captain Lee would do that.”
Viewers apparently don’t need to worry about Lee returning to land just yet, but there is still plenty of time for Below Deck season 10 to head into uncharted waters.
Below Deck season 10 continues Mondays on Bravo in the USA.
