BBC Breakfast's Dan Walker tells co-star to 'stop talking' as he fumes over Ashes results

DAN Walker was clearly still not over the cricket result this morning as he told BBC Breakfast's sports presenter John Watson to "stop" talking about England's recent loss.

Strictly star Dan, 44, didn't hold back in shutting John down as he spoke about England's disappointing result at the 2021 Ashes tournament.

John told Dan and his co-host Luxmy Gopal: "As it is for [cricketer] Joe Root at the moment and the England set up and they'll be desperately searching for answers now.

"But you kind of feel so far away from home now, you know with the disappointment, three crushing defeats…"

But Dan was quick to interrupt, saying: "Stop bringing us misery John. Just stop talking."

John quipped: "It's a slice of reality."

But even Luxmy argued: "Yes but we like our reality but with a little more sugarcoating please."

Luckily all three appeared to be joking, as John shared a laugh with Dan and Luxmy afterwards.

John later shared a snap on Instagram showing Dan with his head in his hand. He wrote: "OK, just make sure nobody mentions the cricket.. @mrdanwalker @luxmy_g @bbcbreakfast."

It comes after Dan flew solo on the programme on Monday, without his usual co-host Sally Nugent.

Sharing a snap of him alone on the sofa, Dan wrote: "What are you up to this morning? I’m a lonesome cowboy on the @bbcbreakfast sofa and am working my way through some mince pies and miniature heroes.

"Join in if you fancy it."
