Avoidance cast: Who is in the line up of new BBC show?

Romesh Ranganathan is set to star in a new comedy series on BBC One.

Here's a look at the cast joining the comedian in the new comedy series.

Who is in the line up of Avoidance?

Romesh Ranganathan

Romesh was born on March 27, 1978 in Crawley, United Kingdom.

He is a British comedian best known for his deadpan sense of humour as depicted on shows such as Rob & Romesh Vs and The Misadventures of Romesh Ranganathan.

The comedian created, wrote and will star in the new comedy series as a character called Johnathan who has severe conflict avoidance issues.

The show will be directed by Benjamin Green who co-created the series alongside Romesh.

Whilst speaking on his new show, Romesh shared: "Ben and I first conceived this idea in 2017 and have been thinking about it on and off ever since, so if it disappeared after one series it would be really annoying.

"If I say the BBC have committed to three series in this quote, do they have to honour that?"

Tanya Qureshi, Commissioning Editor of Comedy for the BBC, shared: "Romesh, Ben and the Ranga Bee team have assembled a fantastic cast to bring their modern take on a family sitcom to life.

"We couldn’t be more excited to share it with audiences on BBC One later this year."

Mandeep Dhillon

Mandeep was born on December 21, 1990 in Letchworth Garden City, United Kingdom.

She will play the character of Danielle on the show.

She is best known for appearing on BBC Three's Some Girls in which she played Saz Kaur.

The actress had also appeared on screenplays such as Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, Fried, Doctor Who and Bulletproof.

Lisa McGrillis

Lisa was born on September 3, 1982 in Cheltenham, United Kingdom.

She is a British actress and has appeared on screenplays such as Much Ado about Nothing, Hebburn, Death in Paradise and King Gary.

The actress is set to appear on Avoidance as a character called Courtney.

Tommy Finnegan

Tommy will star on the new BBC show as a character called Darren.

Despite being so young, he has appeared in a variety of screenplays over the years.

He has appeared on Call The Midwife, Silent Witness, Les Misérables, Doctors, After Life and Our House.

Jessica Knappett

Jessica was born on November 28, 1984 in Bingley, United Kingdom.

She has appeared on a variety of screenplays including Coming of Age, The Inbetweeners Movie, Drifters, Drunk History: UK, Ghosts and Dodgers.

Jessica is set to appear on the new show as a character by the name of Claire.
