Antiques Road Trip celebrity gasps with joy after making huge profit on ornament

A celebrity on Antiques Road Trip could barely hide her excitement after selling an ornament she found in an antiques shop for almost twice the amount she paid for it.

Dr Zoe Williams, one of the resident doctors on ITV’s This Morning, appeared on the celebrity version of the show back in 2019.

The episode, which re-aired last night (June 17), saw Zoe and fellow TV doctor Ranj Singh going head to head to get the best bargains.

Helped by expert Tim Medhurst, Zoe was crowned the winner and her showpiece ended up being a stunning jester ornament.

Made in the 1920s, the object was used to tell what suit is being played during any given card game.

They decided to buy the item for £115 then took it to auction for the all important bidding to commence.

And they weren’t disappointed. The bidding started at £85 but it soon skyrocketed past the all-important £115 mark.

As it continued to increase, Dr Zoe repeatedly gasped “yes”.

The ornament was finally sold for a whopping £190 and the celebrity couldn’t help but hug Tim in delight.

At the end of the show, it was revealed Zoe had won thanks to being £16.60 in profit after all her items were sold.

It wasn’t as good news for Dr Ranj, though, who ended up making a loss of £91.19.

Antiques Road Trip often sees experts snap up some absolute bargains from shops around the country.

On a previous episode, Izzie Balmer managed to make a whopping £170 from auctioning off a posy of dead flowers.

But, as Dr Ranj found out, it doesn’t always go well.

In another episode, expert Philip Serrell screamed when a pair of candlesticks he had high hopes for proved to be complete flop at auction.

He bought them for £60 but was mortified when they sold for a measly £32.50.
