Former CBBC presenter Dionne has never shied away from sharing her passion for music which was helped by her famous godmother.

It was Dionne who first revealed Amy's love for the BBC One competition back in October 2009.

At the time, 13-year-old Dionne was gearing up for her first television performance and while racked with nerves, she had her "big sister" alongside her.

Tears Dry On Their Own singer Amy joined Dionne as her backing singer throughout her performance, delighting the live audience and fans at home with her famous voice.

Shortly after Dionne's jaw-dropping performance, a proud Amy ran over to her goddaughter before wrapping her in her arms and smiling.

Speaking ahead of their performance, Dionne told the BBC: "Amy and I both love Strictly, so it was brilliant to find out I'll be on TV for the first time singing on one of my favourite shows.

"I've known Amy forever, I'm very close to Amy – she's like my sister."

Amy also went on to gush over the young star, telling the Beeb: "The first time I heard Dionne sing, I couldn't believe what I was hearing – such an amazing voice from such a young girl.

"She's so much better than I was at her age."

Speaking last year, on the tenth anniversary of Amy's death, Dionne penned a heartfelt tribute for Vogue magazine, where she reflected on their performance.

The Silly Love songstress wrote: "We only sang together publicly twice, the first time was when I performed live on Strictly Come Dancing at 13, with you as my backing vocalist.

"That was the first time I had ever done anything on a national scale, but I think I was too young to realise the magnitude of it.

"I remember you telling me beforehand: 'You know, it's alright if you mess up, we can do it again,' I said, 'ok, great!', not realising it was live TV.

"When it was over you came running over to ask if I was hungry, and we went to get food, having you there, I knew that you had my back, it felt like I had a blanket protecting me."
