Alex Jones and Jermain Jenas presented The One Show tonight and welcomed Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood onto the show. The presenting duo quizzed Craig about the upcoming series of the BBC dance competition and Alex even dropped a hint about the celebrity line-up. Those watching at home saw her suggest her co-host Jermain could be a great addition to the dance show.
Alex and Jermain chatted to Craig all about Strictly Come Dancing and asked him about Anton du Beke’s new role on the judging panel.
Craig remarked: “Anton’s going to be great, you know, he’s going to be fantastic.”
“Yes and he’s much loved,” Alex said in agreement.
“If you’re looking for contestants though,” she said while pointing towards her co-host Jermain.
“You would be fantastic,” Craig exclaimed, with Alex adding: “It’s just an idea. A suggestion.”
Jermain hit back saying: “You can’t keep putting me out here like this. This is getting ridiculous honestly.
“It’s because you’re pregnant,” he joked, as the studio erupted in laughter.
However, this isn’t the first time someone has hinted at Jermain being a good fit for the BBC dance competition.
Last month on The One Show, Zoe opened up about leaving the Strictly spin-off show It Takes Two after fronting it for 10 years.
Jermain began quizzing the presenter about her exit from the show, saying: “We’ve got to mention, you’re going to be stepping down from Strictly’s It Takes Two.
“You’ve been absolutely brilliant. You’re obviously going to miss it,” he added.
Zoe agreed, saying: “10 years and I’ve loved every minute of it.
“I have, you know, all the dancing to everyone who’s gone through it including, you know, Al. I loved it.
“But, do you know what? Sometimes you know you’ve got to say ‘right, try new things’.
“Also someone else can do the show and you know it’s going to be in safe hands,” she added.
Zoe confirmed she would still be tuning in to watch Strictly, saying: “I will be watching though because I am a number one fan and I can’t wait to see who is in the class of 2021.”
The BBC presenter then ushered towards Jermain hinting he could be set to star in the 2021 Strictly Come Dancing lineup.
“Why does everyone keep pointing at me? What is going on here?” Jermain questioned.
Zoe teased him further, commenting: “Jermain didn’t say no though, did he? He didn’t rule it out.”
Strictly Come Dancing is set to return to BBC One later this year.
