Pregnant Ciara forced to cancel Texas gig over coronavirus fears

Pregnant Ciara has been forced to cancel her Texas gig on doctor's orders over coronavirus fears.

The 1, 2 Step hitmaker, who is expecting her third child, has released a statement to her fans explaining what she can no longer perform at the Fort Hood USO opening on March 19.

The gig has been pushed back to later this year, although there has been no new date confirmed yet.

Ciara, 34, said: "With the continued spread of the coronavirus throughout the U.S., as a pregnant woman, my doctors have advised me to limit travel and large group gatherings.

"I am disappointed I won't be able to return this month to the place where I was born, Ft. Hood Texas, and put on the amazing show we had planned.

"I urge everyone to be diligent in taking steps to stay healthy and safe."

Ciara is the latest performer to cancel a gig due to the global coronavirus outbreak.

One Direction star Louis Tomlinson cancelled his Milan show and BTS, Green Day, Avril Lavigne, and Queen and Adam Lambert have all cancelled or postponed gigs.

Britain now has 209 confirmed cases of coronavirus, two of which proved fatal.

Over 21,000 people have been tested for the disease as of 7am this morning.

Goodies singer Ciara announced she was pregnant in January this year.

Ciara is married to NFL star Russell Wilson and this baby will be the couple's second child together.

They are also parents to Sienna, two, while Ciara is the mother of Future, 5, who is named after his superstar dad.

Sharing her latest baby news on social media, Ciara posted a snap of herself proudly showing off her bump in a red bikini alongside the caption "Number 3".

Ciara has sold over 23 million records worldwide.
