Love Island’s Maura Higgins sparks romance rumours with Giovanni Pernice

Love Island babe Maura Higgins has been linked to Strictly's Giovanni Pernice after the beauty shared a snap on her Instagram story of the view from what appears to be The Polurrian on the Lizard in Cornwall.

Another guest also posted a similar shot, tagging the hotel, writing: "Ooh and finally, you never know who you'll spot at a place like Polurrian on the Lizard!

"I spotted two Love Islanders and a rather well known dancer."

OK! has reported that Giovanni was also spotted outside of the hotel taking photos with fans.

The romance rumours started as Giovanni began following newly-single Maura on Instagram.

Although the dancer follows fewer than 150 people, shortly after following Maura, he also followed her bestie Molly-Mae Hague, who has since followed him back.

It comes six weeks after the 30-year-old bombshell confirmed her split from Love Island's Chris Taylor.

In an Instagram post, she said: "It breaks my heart to even type this but I wanted to let everyone know that myself and Chris have made the joint decision to end our relationship.

"There is no wrong doing on either side. We still love, care and respect each other deeply from the minute we met each other we've been very close friends and that will never change.

"There is no regret, life is about taking chances. We wanted to make this work but we have realised we work better being friends."

Maura reaffirmed that their amicable split was the truth and stated she will always be one of his biggest supporters.

The pair started dating in November 2020, over a year after they first met on Love Island in 2019 and built their strong friendship.

During lockdown, the duo built on their friendship and moved towards a romantic relationship lasting around six months before announcing their split in May.

Giovanni has reportedly remained single since his last relationship with Pussycat Dolls star Ashley Roberts in 2018 after meeting on Strictly.

However, the pair confirmed their split in January 2020 in a statement on social media, adding that they chose to "remain friends".

Daily Star Online has contacted a representative for Maura Higgins and Giovanni Pernice.
