Lily James is Pamela Anderson’s double in Disney’s sneak peek of sex tape drama

Disney has given fans a sneak preview of its highly-anticipated upcoming series based on the true story of actress Pamela Anderson and her boyfriend at the time Motley Crew drummer Tommy Lee’s infamous sex tape.

During the early days of the internet in the late 90s, the TV series tells the tale of how the intimate video launched the careers of the model and her musician lover into the global sensations they are today.

In 1997, the couple’s private video – which was filmed on a VHS tape at the time – was stolen from their home by a disgruntled contractor who then uploaded the X-rated clip to the internet.

Now, to mark the 25th anniversary of the memorable showbiz scandal, Disney have released the first teaser clips of the series – titled Pam And Tommy – which is set to drop on the streaming platform next month.

Blonde bombshell Lilly James and Sebastian Stan have taken on the demanding roles of the power couple with the help of Nick Offerman and Seth Rogan who is also an executive producer on the show.

In the trailer Rogan and Offerman are seen examining the tape as well as James and Stan reacting to the horrific news as they rocked the classic 90s fashion.

Ahead of the launch of the new series, Offerman explained his inspiration behind the new eight-part series.

He said: “It’s so private, it’s kind of like we’re seeing something that we’re not supposed to be seeing.

“That’s kind of what makes it so hot,” he added.

It comes after the Baywatch star herself lashed out at the new TV drama written about her love affair with the drummer and has vowed never to watch it.

Over the years, many shows and films have been made about Pam’s incredible life, but the latest mini-series failed to impress the blonde beauty.

A friend close to the star told The Sun: Pamela has no intention of watching this God-awful show, absolutely not. Never.

“She's never heard of the actors playing her or Tommy, and doesn’t care to know them.

“She and her family think the show is a cheap knockoff. The whole thing is a joke to them,” they added.

The close pal went on to reveal that the show producers did reach out to the Playboy model before filming started, and even asked her to consult on the show but she refused.

They explained: “They reached out, but it was an easy ‘no’ for Pamela. Her and Tommy have absolutely zero involvement in this project.”

The first three episodes of the series will premiere on February 2 on Disney+ and Hulu.
