Liam Gallagher ‘DEMANDS’ Oasis reunion as he warns Noel Gallagher ‘No more olive branches’

Liam Gallagher and Noel Gallagher have long been at odds when it comes to the idea of getting Oasis back together. In recent months, however, the younger Gallagher has ramped up his rhetoric, insisting a reunion is on the cards in the near future, while Noel has maintained there are no such plans.

Yesterday, Liam once again used his favourite medium – Twitter – to reach out to his brother, this time appearing to give him an ultimatum.

Having recently extended an invitation to Noel to bring Oasis back for a one-off gig in order to raise money for charity once the coronavirus crisis had passed, he said he was done “begging”.

“Rite sick of pleading begging etc no more olive branches,”(sic) he tweeted his 3.2 million followers.

“I DEMAND an Oasis reunion after this is all over all money going to NHS c’mon you know. As we were,” Liam added.

The former Oasis star also took a swipe at his brother just an hour later, jibing: “The only way this lockdown can get any worse is if the ice cream vans start booting round the streets blasting Rkid’s [Noel’s] new tunes.”

He then added: “Love is real bants is real.”(sic)

Liam later tweeted poignantly: “You and I are gonna live forever OASIS.”

His previous call for reunion sparked big movement at the bookies, with Ladbrokes slashing their price on Oasis getting playing together before the end of 2020.

The bookmaker cut odds from 10/1 to just 4/1 after Liam’s tweet.

They’re also priced at 8/1 to announce a reunion tour for next year.

Nonetheless, Noel has remained steadfast in his denial there are any concrete moves to reunite the Britpop group.

After his younger sibling told NME an offer had been “booted about”, he told his 1.2 million Twitter followers: “I’d like to point out AGAIN that I’m not aware of any offer of any amount of money to reform the legendary rock ’n’ roll outfit Oasis.”

“I think someone has still someone else’s tunes to promote,” Noel mocked. “So that’s maybe what’s causing the confusion.”

But Liam appears determined to bring the band back, telling the publication a reunion was “gonna happen”.

“It’s gonna happen very f***ing soon,” he insisted. “Because [Noel is] greedy and he loves money and he knows that it’s got to happen soon or it won’t happen.”

The group broke up in 2009 amid ongoing spats between the two brothers.

Liam formed Beady Eye with the remaining members of Oasis after the band split but they struggled to follow the success of their previous project and disbanded in 2014.

He is now forging a career as a solo artist, to much critical acclaim.

Noel, meanwhile, launched Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, his own alt-rock project.

He recently released his latest EP, Blue Moon Rising.
