Inside Beverley Callard’s fourth marriage to her ‘megash*g’ husband Jon McEwan

I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! viewers were stunned this week as Beverley Callard divulged details about her sex life.

The 63-year-old actress did not hold back as she gushed about her fourth husband Jon McEwan to her fellow campmates during a morning chat.

But they were just as shocked as the viewers at home as Beverley went on to reveal that her nickname for her hubby is "megash*g".

The Coronation Street star told her fellow celebs that she's just as attracted to Jon now, as she was a decade ago – and clearly he's still very good in the bedroom department.

Beverley and Jon's first meeting

Beverley first met Jon in Spain at a time when she was taking a break from Coronation Street to pursue her career as a fitness instructor.

Her pupils were adamant that Jon would be the perfect match for her but she wasn't impressed when she first laid eyes on him during their blind date.

"I had decided all men are b*****ds by that point," she previously told the Mirror. "I just wasn’t interested in meeting someone.

"When I saw Jon with his shaved head and gold tooth I wasn’t impressed but within minutes we were chatting away. We went on to sit together at dinner and we got on like a house on fire.”

The pair wound up in a nightclub and agreed to meet up the very next day and did the same the following day, until they quickly became inseparable.

Beverley and Jon tie the knot

Jon proposed to Bev on a beach in Spain back in May 2010, while she was dressed in a baseball cap and wearing no makeup.

They arranged the wedding in just five months – tying the knot in October the same year in a fairytale wedding at Hazlewood Castle Hotel, West Yorkshire.

Bev looked stunning in her floor length strapless ivory gown, which she wore with a matching lace veil.

She carried a beautiful bouquet of pink flowers, which Jon matched his waistcoat to and looked very dapper in a black suit.

The couple certainly went all out for their big day, with Bev opting to have 22 bridesmaids and Jon deciding to get a tattoo of their wedding date to commemorate the occasion.

Beverley's difficult times

Beverley and Jon have been through their fair share of ups and downs throughout their marriage, including bankruptcy, family illness and Beverley's devastating battle with clinical depression that saw her attempt suicide twice.

The actress has said she credits Jon for pulling her out of a "black hole" and when asked what the secret to their marriage was, Bev revealed the answer was very simple.

"Every morning we have two cups of tea together and a chat and then he does a silly little dance in the kitchen," she revealed.

"It makes me smile. When I’m at work I miss him. We laugh a lot and I still fancy him rotten. He’s my best friend as well as my husband."

While Bev is taking part in this year’s I’m A Celeb, Jon made an appearance on Loose Women and revealed he’s keen to renew his vows with Bev.

During the chat, he gushed: "I think we've been through so much together that… no matter where she gets to in the castle – I just want to reaffirm our love, basically."

Asked what he would say to Beverley if she were watching right now, he said: "I would take her to one side – because everyone's going to know now.

"It was a really big deal and this time I want to take her to one side and say, 'I've got it all planned, it's all done. You've just got to come with me and here we go and this is what we're going to do."
