EastEnders icon Rita Simons shares adorable snap with famous lookalike daughter

Former EastEnders star Rita Simons has shared a sweet photo of herself with her daughter Maiya Silveston as the duo enjoyed a lovely day out.

Rita, 45, who is notoriously known for playing Roxy Mitchell in the BBC soap, was snapped beside her 16-year-old lookalike daughter as they enjoyed some drinks together.

The teenager, who made her acting debut earlier in the year, looked gleeful as she posed next to mum Rita in a bright green patterned halter neck top.

EastEnders star Rita looked stunning as she wore a leopard print top while holding up a glass of what appeared to be white wine.

Rita captioned the moment: “My girl and mama @maiya.sammy.”

Fans flocked to the comment section to discuss how uncanny the resemblance is between the duo.

Duncan James, who was recently announced to be joining Celebrity Gogglebox, wrote: “Wow, she’s so grown!!!”

Another person wrote: “Both incredibly beautiful certainly got her mums looks.

While another added: “Gorgeous photo of you both – she's your mini me.”

Teen actress Maiya recenty played the role of Kaz in CBBC's Silverpoint, a 13-part drama about four kids who went missing in the woods in 1997.

Mum Rita took to Instagram in March, where she shared the trailer to the gripping series and wrote: “PROUD MAMA ALL THE WAY!

“She’s the one with the pink hair, btw!”.

During the show's filming last year, Rita shared: “Maiya is currently away. I can’t say where and I can’t say what she’s doing.

“She’s only just 15. She’s had to do all the cleaning and cooking, washing for herself. I’m very proud of her.”

Maiya was diagnosed at six months old of being profoundly deaf in her right ear and with limited hearing in her left ear.

The Teen actress underwent a cochlear implant operation at the age of six.

Maiya is one of Rita’s twin daughters with hairdresser ex husband Theo Silveston, 49 – the pair also share Jaimee.
