When you look at Queen’s incredible music back catalogue, you might not realise it but their biggest hit was written by John Deacon. The retired bassist penned Another One Bites The Dust in 1980, which went on to be the band’s best-selling single with over 7 million copies sold. And now the catchy track has passed another incredible milestone that Brian May and Roger Taylor have celebrated; one that no doubt Freddie Mercury would have been thrilled by.

This week, Another One Bites The Dust’s music video passed an epic 500 million views on the official Queen YouTube channel.

Posting a celebratory video, Brian May wrote: “Self-explanatory ? Thanks to all you folks who made this happen – you know who you are!”

While Roger Taylor shared footage too and captioned it: “Wow! Thank you to all of you who have helped us reach this milestone!”

Interestingly, the Queen drummer had little faith in John’s hit when the bassist first introduced it to the band.
