This year, the artist won the Kids’ Choice Award for “Favorite Breakout Artist.” She is only 17-years-old.
The inspiration for her music comes from a few weird places, including the dentists’ office. In the New York Times’ “Diary of a Song” series, Eilish explained that she started writing music when she was 11-years-old with the help of her brother. Since then, the duo put their twisted, creepy spin on the music industry, one song at a time.

Even celebrities struggle with mental health. In a video PSA, posted on May 22, 2019, Billie Eilish explained that she has to check in with herself every once and a while. She stated that there’s nothing wrong with asking for help and reaching out to someone who may need a friend.
“The main thing I’m trying to say is that you should keep your ears open and you should listen,” Billie Eilish said. “Even if it’s just a little more comfort, that can really mean a lot to someone, because you don’t know what is going on.”
The organization Billie Eilish partnered with was AdCouncil, for their new ‘Seize the Awkward’ initiative. This initiative emphasizes starting a conversation about mental health and the importance of supporting friends during challenging times.
In another advertisement with Calvin Klein, Billie Eilish explained one of the reasons she wears baggy clothes is so no one comments on her body. The video sparked a conversation about Muslim women, who wear hijabs for a similar reason.
“And that’s also why Muslim women like to wear hijab, so they are not judged by the looks and body. But of course, many ppl don’t comprehend that and instead claim that hijab is forced on women. In fact, it’s not, it’s our choice to cover ourselves. Same goes with Muslim women who choose to wear a niqab to cover their faces,” said one comment.

A match made in heaven, Billie Eilish also partnered with American Horror Story for their newest season of the horror-themed television series. The trailer for American Horror Story: 1984 features Billie Eilish’s song “Six Feet Under,” over clips promoting the ninth season.
