Adam Woodyatt’s wife ‘furious’ as he ‘signs six-figure I’m A Celeb deal’

Adam Woodyatt is said to have signed a whopping "six-figure deal" for ITV's hit reality TV show I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! whilst his estranged wife is strapped for cash.

Known for his long-time role of Ian Beale in BBC's EastEnders, Woodyatt is in the midst of a divorce with wife Bev Sharp who is 'struggling for money'.

The 53-year-old actor shares two children with Bev, who has been spotted buying reduced priced food during a recent trip to shops and she is reportedly having financial worries whilst going through the divorce process.

The couple have been married since 1998 and have recently confirmed their divorce following their 22 years together as husband and wife.

Bev, 56, has received food parcels from worried family members who can see she is struggling with her finances.

Though Adam has reportedly signed a bumper pay deal with ITV for his appearance on the hit I'm A Celeb show which would top up his account by a quarter of a million.

The rumoured £250,000 deal would mean Woodyatt will be heading to Gwrych Castle before the divorce has even been settled.

A source told The Sun: “She’s really been struggling.”

Meanwhile, Bev's friend said: “She has really struggled financially and relied on food donations on occasion recently from family and friends.”

Speaking on Adam's rumoured appearance in the show, the pal added: “I think it’s inevitable he’ll end up getting picked for lots of trials and I wouldn’t blame Bev if she had his number on speed dial after all the pain and upset he’s put her through."

Adam departed the BBC soap earlier this year and it has come to light that his character, Ian Beale, is not expected to return to the infamous Albert Square until 2022.

Woodyatt will follow on in a long line of EastEnders cast members to have braved the reality TV show – three of whom have gone on to become King or Queen of the Jungle – Joe Swash in 2008, Charlie Brooks in 2012 and Jacqueline Jossa as recently as 2019.

Also rumoured to be entering the Welsh Castle, which has replaced the Australian jungle as a result of Covid-19 restrictions, is TV icon Richard Madeley who has been unveiled as a contestant for the series set to start later this year.

Daily Star has approached Adam's representatives for comment.
