The ‘License to Wed’ actor surprises movie goers attending a screening of his new horror movie ‘A Quiet Place Part II’ at the AMC in Miami following the release of the film.
AceShowbiz –John Krasinski surprised the audience at a screening of “A Quiet Place Part II” this week (end23May21).
To mark the sequel to his 2018 horror flick – which he co-wrote, directed, and starred in alongside his wife Emily Blunt – hitting cinemas, the 41-year-old filmmaker jumped on stage at the AMC in Miami.
In a clip posted on social media on Thursday (20May21), he said, “Here’s the deal: I said that I would bring out A Quiet Place Part II when we could all see it together. Well, guess what? It’s time. And it’s Miami. Let’s go!”
Krasinski explained he’s “going around theatres all across the country, popping in like this to say, ‘Thank you.’ “
He urged movie fans, “Come back to the theatres, let’s watch movies together, let’s be together. Let’s do it.”
The delayed flick was originally due to hit theatres in March 2020 but, like most films, it was pushed back due to the pandemic amid the closure of cinemas.
“They always say good things come to those who wait. Well… I think we’ve waited long enough,” Krasinski tweeted.
The sequel follows the same family continuing their fight for survival outside of their hometown and, although Krasinski’s character died in the first movie, he will make an appearance via flashback sequences.
Blunt is back as his wife Evelyn Abbott with Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe as their kids Regan and Marcus.
New additions to the cast include Cillian Murphy and Djimon Hounsou.
The first picture proved to be a cultural phenomenon with both critics and audiences, raking in over $340 million (£239 million) worldwide on a budget of $17 million (£12 million), and nabbing an Oscar nomination for best sound editing.
