James Bond actor Daniel Craig was the recipient of a cutting remark from rock ‘n’ roll legend Sir Rod Stewart recently. The beloved crooner called out the star over how he prefers to stay out of the public eye.

Sir Rod admitted he had a very different approach to his own fame.

Speaking in a recent interview, the Maggie May singer opened up about his thoughts on fame.

He took aim in particular at Daniel over his reluctance at being in the public eye.

Rod explained: “I was reading about that 007 geezer [Bond actor Daniel Craig] complaining about fame and all his privacy’s gone.

“Well, why the f*** did you come into this business?

“I don’t mind stopping for a photo or signing an autograph.”

He added to the Daily Telegraph last weekend: “Those are the people who put you where you are, who gave you everything.

“I feel privileged. What a glorious job.

“Best job in the world. I can’t think of a better one.”

Rod was seemingly referring to Daniel’s struggles with the fame that came with being James Bond.

In a recent documentary for Apple TV+, the actor shared an insight into this.

He said in Being James Bond: “My personal life was affected by being that famous all of a sudden.

“I used to lock myself in and close the curtains, I was in cloud cuckoo land.

“I was physically and mentally under siege.

“I didn’t like the newfound level of fame.

“It was Hugh Jackman who helped me to come to terms with it and appreciate it.”

Sir Rod made the comments as he was busy promoting his new album.

Entitled The Tears of Hercules, this marks his 31st studio album.

The legendary singer will release his latest songs on November 12.

The record is set to contain 12 new releases, including his single One More Time.
