Spice Girls ‘hold secret talks about 2023 reunion’

The Spice Girls are supposedly in talks to host a reunion tour in 2023 it has been revealed.

This report comes after members Geri Horner, Melanie Brown and Emma Bunton were seen meeting up at London’s Mandeville Hotel on Friday, while Melanie Chisolm – who is in LA – joined them on Zoom.

Victoria Beckham was not seen with the ladies as sources have come out that the band are trying to convince the 47-year-old to return and participate in the show.

Her withdrawal wouldn’t come as a surprise after the popstar-turned-designer declined the invitation to join the Spice Girls on their previous reunion tour in 2019 and hasn’t performed with the band since 2008.

This meeting between the rest of the band however gives an indication that another series of shows is on the cards in the future, fans will be pleased to know.

The idea for the Spice Girls to get back together again and perform seemingly came about after Mel B was urged on by Adele when she attended her Audience With show, airing on ITV on 21 November.

“The current plan is the tour will begin in Australia and go from there,” insiders told The Sun.

"They are all very excited that the wheels are now in motion, and are hoping to give their fans a 2023 tour bigger and better than 2019.

“And one person who will definitely be in the audience is Adele.

"She is a real superfan, and told Mel seeing the girls in 2019 made her year.”

Adele has been very vocal about being a “superfan” of the legendary ‘90s group, after posting a video of herself a couple of years ago on Instagram on her way to their reunion concert in London.

In the clip, the singer is seen in a car dancing to the Spice Girl’s 1997 hit single Stop, waving her hands about energetically, hardly able to containment her excitement at seeing the band.

“Oiii last time I saw the Spice Girls at Wembley was 21 years ago! Tonight with my nearest and dearest I cried, laughed, screamed, danced, reminisced and fell back in love with my 10 year old self,” she had captioned.

“It’s no secret how much I love them, how much they inspired me to run for my life and never look back. I couldn’t have got here without you 5 BRITISH legends! I love you!”

It seems Adele has a convincing way with words as the Spice Girls appear to make moves on with the show and, after celebrating their 25th anniversary this month, it seems like the perfect time to start.
