Sir Rod Stewart, 76, took to Instagram yesterday and posted a rare snap alongside his youngest sons, Alastair, 15, and 10-year-old Aiden, who he shares with his wife Penny Lancaster. The photo comes after the trio attended Football For Change, a charity event that aims to raise money for underprivileged children.

The Maggie May rocker appeared in high spirits as he cuddled up to his sons.

The legendary singer looked dapper in a leopard print blazer jacket which he teamed with matching shoes.

His boys looked equally smart as they also sported suits for the occasion.

In view of his 507,000 followers, Rod captioned the post: “Thank you @ftblforchange for an inspirational evening raising money for underprivileged children.

“And another thank you to two hero’s @domcalvertlewin @23_carra.”

The veteran performer accompanied the post with a video of himself on stage when he was asked to sing a tune for the audience.

Rod said he was there to show his support as “life has been kind to me, I’ve made lots of money and you have to give a little back”.

He then proceeded to delight fans with an acapella rendition of the hit song Have I told You Lately That I Love You.

The candid post comes just a day after Rod’s performance on The Graham Norton Show on Friday night.

The singer was joined on the BBC programme with the likes of Lady Gaga, Nadiya Hussain, Adam Driver and Josh Gad.

Rod performed his new single One More Time but viewers slammed his appearance.

Viewers took to social media and complained that his performance was “embarrassing”.
