Piers Morgan, 56, is no stranger to expressing his opinions on Twitter, where he has a staggering 7.9 million followers. The ex Good Morning Britain host tends to tweet multiple times each day, but has told fans he will be taking a step back.

In his latest post, he wrote: “When, as I’ve been doing these past few weeks, you spend a lot less time on Twitter, and a lot more time out & about in the real world, you realise just how many god-awful & unhinged people are on this platform.

“I intend spending even less time in their putrid company.”

Many of his fans flocked to his post to comment.

One user wrote: “Twitter reflects the very worst of society for sure. Out in the real world, people are not at each other’s throats 24/7.”

A second commented: “Thought you were having a moment of self reflection there for a minute Piers.”

“Yes I totally agree with you Piers x,” a third added.

A fourth penned: “Great observation Piers. Now, I wonder who brings out the worst in them?”

Another pointed out he had posted several tweets over the past week, including a couple aimed at Meghan Markle.

Last month, Piers quit Good Morning Britain after sparking over 57,000 Ofcom complaints over comments he said about Prince Harry’s wife.

In his latest column, he queried the Duchess of Sussex’s new children’s book, which reflects on a special bond between a father and child.

Piers queried the motive of her new novel as he accused her of disowning her own dad Thomas Markle.

Thomas has claimed to have sent countless texts to her, but has received no reply.

In another rant the week, the journalist addressed the controversy surrounding Disneyland’s Snow White ride.

The new ride hit the headlines as many pointed out that Snow White is seen receiving a kiss from while she’s asleep.

Piers shared an article from the New York Post, which had the headline: “Disneyland’s Snow White ride attacked for ‘kiss without her consent’.”

He commented: “For the love of God…

“Can the woke brigade please just shut the f**k up?

“You’re pathetic & exhausting, and nobody in the real world agrees with you. Thanks.”

He added in his column: “Leave Snow White’s hero Prince alone, you insufferable woke brats.

“I do not consent to you cancelling him as a predator for kissing her to save her life. Love, PIERS xxx.”
