Olly Murs has revealed that he was forced to undergo emergency surgery after injuring his leg during a performance.
The former X Factor star explained that he was left limping on stage after a fragment of his bone became lodged in the back of his knee after he jumped.
The 37 year old described the horrifying turn of events from his hospital bed on Tuesday, stating in an Instagram clip that it had been a "mad 72 hours" in which he underwent surgery and is now on the road to recovery.
Smiling through the pain, the hitmaker told fans: "I am so sorry I look like a bag of s*** this morning, but I wanted to send you a message to let you know what is going on."
Olly added: "Why is Olly in the hospital bed? I've just had surgery on my left leg.
"For some of you who came to my Newmarket gig on Friday, thank you for your kind messages of support and just checking it was OK.
"It has been a mad 72 hours since the gig getting to this point," he said.
Olly continued: "Basically, after my second song, a fragment of bone that was in my knee managed, after I jumped, to lodge itself on the back of my knee, which basically shut my leg down.
"During the gig, I was just limping the whole time. Couldn't believe it. Basically, I am in, I have had the surgery."
The star added that he wanted to get the surgery done before his next gig on the 14th.
"I wanted to do this for you guys. It will be a different gig, I probably won't be running around like I normally do," he explained.
Olly added that he was staying positive while he recovers during the next few days.
