Naga Munchetty, who presents on BBC Breakfast, also fronts her own show on Radio 5 Live. Earlier this month, it was announced that Rick Edwards would be the host of the breakfast show on the radio channel.

He’ll be taking over from Nicky Campbell in the morning slot, who is expected to front his radio show later in the day.

Naga, who joined 5 Live last year, took the opportunity to congratulate Rick on his role.

However, the news led to some concern from Naga’s listeners after it was announced a hosting role and schedule change is taking place.

One quizzed: “What’s happening come November tho Naga. I see a new schedule announced for Radio 5 Live from November?”(sic)

Another remarked: “Agreed, but I heard Nicky [Campbell] is moving to a later morning show? Surely that would be the same slot Naga occupies now.”

Naga currently presents her radio show from Monday to Wednesday from 10am to 1pm.

Nicky confirmed on Twitter he’ll be presenting from 9am until 11am on weekdays from November.

On the official BBC Radio 5 Live account, it confirmed Nicky’s later timeslot, tweeting: “Nicky [Campbell] is moving to present a later show on 5 Live every weekday morning.”

It has since been announced that Naga’s regular time slot will be changed.

A BBC representative told Express.co.uk: “This won’t impact Naga’s slot beyond plans that have already been in place for some time.

“Nicky’s new slot will run on weekdays 9-11am.”

They added: “Naga and Adrian [Chiles] will thus present their shows between 11am-1pm when the changes come into effect.”

Meanwhile, Naga bid farewell to her longtime colleague and pal Louise Minchin this week.

It comes after the news anchor stepped down from her role on BBC Breakfast after two decades.

In a goodbye video, Naga said: “Louise, your strength, your determination, your utter brilliance as a triathlete and woman.

“I think you’re brilliant and I think you’re going to carry on being brilliant away from here.”

Naga wasn’t the only BBC host to bid farewell to Louise, with former colleague Jon Sopel adding: “Minchin, I can’t believe you’re leaving.

“After all those years together on News 24, News Channel and I think once even News 25.

“You’ve been fantastic and you will be sorely missed. I send you lots and lots of love. goodbye.”

BBC Breakfast airs daily on BBC One at 6am.

Naga Munchetty presents on BBC Radio 5Live Monday to Wednesday from 10am.
