The Wanted star Max George has shared an update on Tom Parker as he continues to battle a brain tumour.

Strictly Come Dancing star Max, 32, said his friend and former bandmate Tom, 33, is a "different breed" as he praised Tom for his cancer battle so far.

Max appeared on Good Morning Britain on Monday 30 August where he discussed Tom's ongoing battle, after the singer marked a year since the seizure which led to his diagnosis.

Good Morning Britain presenter Charlotte Hawkins, who hosted the Bank Holiday show alongside Sean Fletcher, asked for an update on Max's bandmate Tom as Max appeared on the show.

GMB star Charlotte asked Max: "We've got to ask you how Tom is because he just mentioned the other day that it was a year since he had the seizure that then lead to the brain tumour being diagnosed and it kind of rocked his world and, I imagine, came as a huge shock to all of you as well."

Strictly Come Dancing star Max then told the show: "Of course, it was a massive shock but honestly he's doing amazingly well.

"Tom's a different breed of animal and he's tackling it with everything and his wife Kelsey and, yeah, he's doing great.

"He's just set up a concert at the Albert Hall as well called Inside My Head which is for Stand Up For Cancer and, yeah, we're really looking forward to that.

"He's got some great acts on and I know Becky Hill's doing it as well as McFly and KSI. And hopefully I'll be front row there watching."

Charlotte added: "We're both patrons of a children's hospice in the South East so I've been kind of following his journey as well and the thing that strikes me is his massive positivity throughout everything because a lot of people would have been like: 'My world's falling apart'."

Max responded with: "That's just him, though. That's the way he is with everything and this is no different, unbelivabley. But, it's really not. Tom just gets on with everything and I'm looking forward to seeing him."

Tom recently said he was "grateful" as he revealed earlier this month a scan had shown a reduction in his brain tumour.

Tom shared a snap of himself in the studio again on his Instagram page to give the update.

He said in the caption: "Ok..here goes.

"The last couple of days have been filled with dread and worry but I’m pleased to announce that the results of yesterday’s scan (lovely birthday present [crying with laughter emoji]), are stable with a slight reduction in the tumour if anything.

"I can’t tell you how grateful I am to receive this news."
