Mary J. Blige, J Balvin Join Cast Of ‘Trolls’ Sequel

Mary J. Blige and J Balvin have been tapped as voice-over artists in Trolls World Tour, the sequel to DreamWorks Animation’s 2016 hit musical-comedy Trolls.

DreamWorks has also cast rock legend Ozzy Osbourne, who is set to voice King Thrash, the villain in the animated motion picture, due for release in April 2020.

Anna Kendrick and Justin Timberlake are set to reprise their roles as Poppy and Branch, respectively, in the sequel. The cast also includes James Corden, George Clinton, Kelly Clarkson, Sam Rockwell and Kenan Thompson.

The film’s plot sees Poppy and Branch “discover Troll tribes scattered over six different lands and devoted to six different kinds of music: Funk, Country, Techno, Classical, Pop and Rock.”

Osbourne’s King Thrash is a leader of the rock trolls, who with his daughter, Queen Barb, voiced by Rachel Bloom, hopes to destroy all other types of music, leaving rock to rule.
