Leigh-Anne Pinnock all smiles on Boxing Day set as she prepares for film debut

Leigh-Anne Pinnock was all smiles as she got to work on the set of rom-com Boxing Day.

It was announced last month that the Little Mix star had landed her debut film role in the upcoming festive flick, which also marks Aml Ameen’s directorial debut.

Pictures have now emerged of the 29-year-old filming in London, grinning widely as she embraced life in front of the camera.

She was spotted rocking an orange top and skinny jeans, which she coupled with the dreamiest gold boots and calf-length black coat.

The films appears to see Leigh-Anne returning to her singing roots, as she was photographed in front of a tinsel covered microphone, with a co-star playing a guitar behind her.

An insider spilled the beans on how the Break Up Song singer has been behind the scenes, tipping her as an ‘absolute natural’.

‘Leigh-Anne was an absolute natural on set,’ an insider told the Sun. ‘All the cast have been great to her, especially Aml.

‘She certainly has a future in acting.’

We can’t wait to see that play out.

Boxing Day stars Aml as Melvin, a British author living in the States who returns to London for Christmas to introduce his British-Caribbean family to his American fiancée (Aja Naomi King).

Leigh-Anne’s latest project comes after Jesy Nelson announced her departure from Little Mix, last week.

The X Factor winner confirmed she would be leaving the group in a heartfelt Instagram post – leaving Leigh-Anne, Jade Thirlwall and Perrie Edwards to continue as a three-piece.

Her news was supported by her bandmates on Twitter, who issued their own statement, which read: ‘After an amazing 9 years together Jesy has made the decision to leave Little Mix.

‘This is an incredibly sad time for all of us but we are fully supportive of Jesy.

‘We love her very much and agree that it is so important that she does what is right for her mental health and well-being.

‘We are still very much enjoying our Little Mix journey and the 3 of us are not ready for it to be over.’

‘We know that Jesy leaving the group is going to be really upsetting news for our fans,’ they added. ‘We love you guys so much and are so grateful for your loyalty and continued support of all of us.

‘We’re looking forward to seeing so many of you on tour. Love always, Jade, Perrie and Leigh-Anne xxx.’
