Kim Kardashian is facing some criticism for the name of her new shapewear line, Kimono.
The 38-year-old Keeping Up With The Kardashians superstar revealed the new line earlier in the week, which caused some backlash due to the name.
Some users on social media called Kim out, claiming that the name Kimono, otherwise known as a Japanese traditional garment, was offensive.
However, Kim has “no plans” to produce actual kimonos with her line, and “hasn’t put a lock on the product name, which has been used in business for years” according to TMZ on Wednesday (June 26).
“Her trademark of the Kimono name only applies to her business…as is standard practice. She’s also trademarked Kimoji, KKW Beauty and KKW Fragrance in the past…all brands incorporate her first name to some degree,” the report reads.
