Kevin Kilblane and Brianne Delcourt’s love story as Dancing On Ice star proposes

Kevin Kilblane has proposed to his Dancing On Ice skating partner Brianne Delcourt after a whirlwind four-month romance.

The smitten couple got engaged at a swanky restaurant with a huge sparkler delivered to Brianne by a waiter, before Kevin dropped to one knee and sang to his love, before asking her to marry him.

The pair only met four months ago, when they began training for Dancing On Ice in October 2019, and they moved in after just two months of dating.

Former footballer Kevin, 42, split from his wife of 12 years, Laura Harrison, in 2011.

Meanwhile Brianne previously dated ice partners Matt Lapinskas, Sam Attwater and Danny Young.

Father-of-two Kevin revealed he was instantly attracted to professional ice skater Brianne, 38, the first time he laid eyes on her, and they began spending all their time together, on and off the ice.

They started off as friends, but shared a lot in common, including co-parenting, though Brianne turned Kevin down at first, as she felt it was too soon.

They announced they were in a relationship in December 2019, and spoke to OK! about their blossoming love.

"There was an attraction with Brianne the first time I met her," said Kevin.

"But it was way more than that. Everything just clicked.”

Brianne gushed: “There is no comparison of Kevin to the guys I used to date. Kevin’s perfect and my best friend.”

At the start of February, the couple raised eyebrows by moving in in together.

They opened up to MirrorOnline about their domestic bliss, with Brianne insisting Kevin was the boss around the house and wore the trousers – but Brianne took control when it came to the ice skating rink.

Kevin confessed: "I’m certainly not the boss on the ice. Bri holds me up all the time, she controls it.”

Brianne added: “He takes more control at home. He cooks the meals, does the laundry. He’s more of the boss.”

Kevin also said they struggled to deal with the reaction from their loved ones at first, and it took some time for them to "come to terms with" their relationship.

But he explained: "It just happened naturally. It's been great."

Brianne also has one child, a three-year-old daughter named Gracie, who "adores" her mum's new partner.

“We are really happy," she beamed.

"Gracie adores Kevin. It’s very comfortable.”

Earlier this month, Kevin and Brianne opened up on their future plans, revealing they planned to jet off to Canada together.

Kevin said: “We’re desperate for holiday. When the show finishes we’re going away. We need that more than anything.”

Brianne added: “I’m looking forward to showing Kevin round Canada. I’ve got a new house out there.”

Kevin said: “We’ve got a long time ahead of us. We’re looking forward to the future.”

Asked if that future could involve wedding bells, he replied coyly: “Who knows? We’ll see.”

While the loved up pair's Dancing On Ice journey sadly came to an end at the weekend (where they also shared a steamy kiss after their skate off performance) this is just the beginning for them.

Kevin did indeed get down on one knee and ask Brianne to marry him, to which she asked him "are you serious?" and excitedly replied "yes!", before the entire restaurant exploded into applause.

She commemorated the romantic moment on Instagram, writing: "He couldn’t have been more perfect I love you @kdkilbane77. 02.04.2020."
