She's had a tough year with her husband Derek Draper's agonising battle with coronavirus, and now Kate Garraway has pleaded with British Gas after her home appliances stopped working.

The mum-of-two, who recently opened up about her relationship with friend Ben Shephard, was left worried after her fridge, freezer and washing machine stopped functioning, just as tougher lockdown restrictions have been put into place.

The 53 year old took to Twitter to send British Gas a message and pleaded: "Help @BritishGas ! – my fridge & freezer & washing machine have all stopped working – someone was coming yesterday under your home care plan but never showed up.

"Am panicking about keeping kids & I going if we are isolating without this! @BritishGasHelp," she exclaimed.

However, British Gas were quick to respond to the Good Morning Britain presenter and said: "Hi Kate, sorry to hear the engineer didn't get to you yesterday.

"I'll be able to check things for you, please pop me over a DM with your full address and phone number. Thanks, Sharon."

Kate's loyal followers were quick to reassure her about her situation, with one Twitter user writing: "After everything kate and the family have been through this year someone should supply the family with brand new appliances."

While a second fan offered to come and fix the appliance himself, saying: "Kate, I would offer my services. Would help you for absolutely no charge at all!!"

"Oh Kate I wish I could help you, in your life it never rains till it pours. I feel so sorry for you. Come on British Gas get some help sorted out," another Twitter user said.

A fourth added: "If I lived around the corner, I'd be there to help in a heartbeat. Hope it's all sorted soon."

Kate's latest panic comes after she reflected on the struggles of 2020 and spoke about the "missed moments".

The I'm A Celebrity star, who recently wore a stylish black and white coat, said: "There have been so many missed moments haven't there? The first one was not having our chocolate Easter egg hunt that my mum organises every year.

"Then there was my birthday and then Billy's birthday and Derek's birthday… all those moments. Trying to make the most of them over Zoom and FaceTime.

"My two god-daughters have both had babies and I have missed the first birthday, I have missed the christening, I just haven't seen them because I haven't been able to. I think I shall treasure all that when we start to get it back," she explained.
